Sensorimotor

5 exercises

Sensorimotor training involves exercises that aim to improve coordination, balance, and proprioception—our perception of the position and movement of our body in space. These exercises engage the sensory receptors located in the muscles, joints, and tendons, as well as the nervous system, to strengthen the connections between the brain and the body. In the context of ankle injury prevention, sensorimotor training is crucial as it helps develop better awareness of ankle positioning and enables more effective reactions to changes in terrain or external disturbances, thereby reducing the risk of falls or sprains.
